The pedal kick front wheel lift (also known as "quarter punch") allows us to gain forward momentum as well as lift our wheel over an obstacle by timing a high-energy pedal stroke.

This skill takes a bit of time to practice as it involves:

  • Timing

  • Gear choice

  • Setting a correct speed

  • Moving from a seated to a standing position

  • Pedal position awareness
